Wild Hare Premium Beef Jerky Recipe Receives the State Grand Champion Award for Whole Muscle Beef Jerky!

    The Wisconsin Association of Meat processors (WAMP) held its 69th Annual Convention in Middleton, Wisconsin on April 11, 12, and 13.
    The Wisconsin Meat Product Show was held in conjunction with the convention. As part of this event, there were 928 different products entered in 35 different categories.
    During the judging of the Whole Muscle Jerky category, judges from around the state selected the Wild Hare recipe manufactured by Geiss Meats in Merrill, Wisconsin, as the best Whole Muscle Jerky in the State of Wisconsin!

    The Wisconsin Meat Product Show is the largest of its kind in the USA. Meat processing plants and meat markets from throughout Wisconsin entered various products into product categories, including summer sausage, bratwurst, ham, bacon, smoked poultry, and a variety of other types of meat products.
    More than 40 judges including food scientists, out-of-state meat processors, and other food industry professionals scored the products on external appearance and eye-appeal, internal appearance, aroma, and taste, using a scale of 1000 points.
    The size of this show and the quality of its entries demonstrates the important role that sausage and processed meats play in Wisconsin’s meat industry and among consumers across the state.
